Baseball Recap: Maury Commodores vs. Godwin Eagles
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Maury can now relate to. They fell just short of the Godwin Eagles by a score of 6-5 on Friday.
For Godwin's part, Hunter Ross looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ross has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, Berkley Smallwood was excellent, going 1-for-4 with a triple, two RBI, and a run. The team also got some help courtesy of David Trenkle, who went 1-for-2 with a stolen base and an RBI.
