Football Game Preview: Weaver Beavers vs. Morgan/Old Saybrook/Westbrook

After each having a week off, the Weaver Beavers and Morgan/Old Saybrook/Westbrook will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Weaver has given up an average of 29 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Weaver came into their game last Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 49-26 to Cromwell/Portland.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kadain Claflin-Coy, who threw for 210 yards and a pair of TDs on only 16 passes. Jameire Haughton helped Claflin-Coy out on the ground, rushing for 65 yards and one score on only eight carries, while also catching one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Morgan/Old Saybrook/Westbrook was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 20-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of Haddam-Killingworth.

Weaver's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Morgan/Old Saybrook/Westbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
