Softball Recap: Foxcroft Comes Up Short

Foxcroft extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-4 in the process. They came up short against the Maret Frogs, falling 24-11. Even if Foxcroft couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

As for Maret, the win got them back to even at 4-4. The result was nothing new for the Frogs, who have now won three matchups by 13 runs or more so far this season.

For Maret's part, the team relied heavily on Cleo Kraske, who fired off two home runs, nine RBI, and four runs while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave Kraske a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Sterling, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, two triples, and one stolen base.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Foxcroft is set to square off against their familiar foe Evergreen Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Maret will face off against rival National Cathedral at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
