Jefferson Forest waltzed into their game on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Liberty Minutemen. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Amelia Long's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Kylie Hendricks was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Taya Hall was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with three runs.

Jefferson Forest pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.

As of now, neither Jefferson Forest nor the Minutemen have any future games scheduled.
