Preview: Northside Patriots vs. Shaw Raiders
Northside has been on the road for four straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Shaw Raiders at 3:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Thursday, Northside came up short against Columbus and fell 58-49. While losing is never fun, Northside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 466th, while Columbus is ranked 191st).
Meanwhile, Shaw pushed their score all the way to 59 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hardaway. Shaw has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Northside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Shaw, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.
