Basketball Recap: Hazleton Area Sets Scoring Season-High Against Reading

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hazleton Area). They secured an 84-80 W over the Reading Red KNights on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Hazleton Area's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from YoYo Moran, who shot 71% from the field to rack up 26 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Moran now owns an excellent 53.7% shooting accuracy. Kendrick Ortiz was another key player, going 7-for-12 on his way to 19 points and eight rebounds.

Hazleton Area was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Hazleton Area now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Reading, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Hazleton Area will venture away from home to face off against Harrisburg at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Reading, they will be home for the holidays to greet Wilson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
