Softball Game Preview: Delran Bears vs. Bordentown Scotties

Delran and Bordentown are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Scotties at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Delran 3.7, Bordentown 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Delran let Rancocas Valley stack four runs on them in the fourth inning on Saturday but luckily Delran prevailed anyway. The Bears had just enough and edged out the Red Devils 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bears have posted since May 30, 2024.

Elaina Faux and Arianna Martinez did most of the damage at the plate: Faux fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-5, while Martinez went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Danielle Gorman, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Delran lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Bordentown didn't have quite enough to beat Burlington Township on Monday and fell 3-2.

Delran's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-4. As for Bordentown, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-2-1.
