Baseball Game Preview: Seeger Patriots vs. North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers

The Seeger Patriots will take on the North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Seeger didn't have quite enough to beat Armstrong and fell 2-1.

Jarrett Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI.

Meanwhile, while North Montgomery put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Fountain Central. The Chargin' Chargers put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 18-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Chargin' Chargers in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won nine in a row.

Crew Cole made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Cole was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, North Montgomery got a massive performance out of Aiden Ambriz-Cruz, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave Ambriz-Cruz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keaton Brown, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

North Montgomery was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in eight consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Seeger's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for North Montgomery, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Seeger came out on top in a nail-biter against North Montgomery in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Chargin' Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
