The Atlantic Christian Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Gloucester County Christian Conquerors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Atlantic Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Atlantic Christian barely beat Calvary Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars put the hurt on the Warrior with a sharp 13-4 win on Friday. The Cougars have beaten the Warrior the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Warrior has come to flipping the script.

Ethan Costello and Aiden Martin were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Costello struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Martin pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Costello has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Costello went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Martin went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Atlantic Christian is undefeated when Costello posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise.
In other batting news, Seth Phillips was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Atlantic Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Charlie Costello was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
Atlantic Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Gloucester County Christian scored first but ultimately less than King's Christian in their contest on Tuesday. They fell 11-7 to the Knights.
JD Greenwood put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Greenwood was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.
Greenwood wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was David Dellarova, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Atlantic Christian's record now sits at 8-4. As for Gloucester County Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Atlantic Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .506. However, it's not like Gloucester County Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .466. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Atlantic Christian took their victory against Gloucester County Christian when the teams last played back in June of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Conquerors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
