Baseball Recap: Sumner Comes Up Short

After flying high against South Plaquemines last Friday, Sumner came back down to earth. The Cowboys fell just short of the Doyle Tigers by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Cowboys in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.

Sumner's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Doyle, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-15-1 record this season.

Doyle will head out on the road to face off against Episcopal at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sumner will be paying especially close attention to the Tigers' matchup: after the Tigers faces off against the Knights, they'll take on Sumner again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
