Softball Recap: Goshen RedHawks vs. Warsaw Tigers
Goshen and Warsaw squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Goshen had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 8-7. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 9-8 loss on May 9th.
Emi Ortiz and Emily Diaz stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ortiz went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Diaz went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was Ortiz's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Abby Snyder, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Goshen has been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 16 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. As for Warsaw, they moved to 9-15 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
