Things were looking good for Selma after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Fowler by a score of 4-3.

Noah Garcia-Ortega was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Selma saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacoby Gonzalez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those RBI marked the first that Gonzalez brought in this season.

Meanwhile, Kerman fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Centennial on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Hawks by a score of 3-1. The loss was the Lions' first of the season.

Selma's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Kerman, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1-1.
