Preview: Windham Whippets vs. Parish Hill Pirates
Having just played yesterday, the Windham Whippets will get right back to it and host the Parish Hill Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Windham will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive.
On Wednesday, Windham came up short against Stonington and fell 53-42. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Windham has scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Asihja Harris, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Flores, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Parish Hill scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 49-20 win over Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Parish Hill has managed all season.
Windham's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2. As for Parish Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.
Everything came up roses for Windham against Parish Hill when the teams last played back in January of 2022 as the squad secured a 87-35 victory. With Windham ahead 41-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
