Basketball Game Preview: Greencastle Tiger Cubs vs. North Putnam Cougars

The Greencastle Tiger Cubs will take on the North Putnam Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greencastle is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.

Greencastle is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They received a blow as they fell 72-55 to Northview. While losing is never fun, the Tiger Cubs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Knights are ranked 17th).

Despite the defeat, Greencastle got top-tier performance from Sam Gooch, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 20 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Taygan McRoberts, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, North Putnam had to endure an 11-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They took down Fountain Central 42-28 on Saturday.

North Putnam's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Greencastle, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-5.
