Basketball Recap: Queen's Grant Skates Past Carmel Christian with Ease

Queen's Grant lost to Carmel Christian back in January of 2019, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Stallions claimed a resounding 54-27 win over the Cougars. Fans of the Stallions have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Queen's Grant to victory, but perhaps none more so than Misa Garris, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 12 points and eight steals. With that strong performance, Garris is now averaging an impressive 3.2 steals per game. Za'Miya Bynum was another key player, going 5-for-7 on her way to 11 points and five steals.

Queen's Grant was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carmel Christian only posted seven.

Despite the loss, Carmel Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Leah Miller posted nine points.

Queen's Grant pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Queen's Grant will venture away from home to challenge Myers Park at 5:30 p.m. on the 21st. As for Carmel Christian, they have already played their next contest, a 71-24 defeat against Concord Academy on the 14th.
