The Venture Academy Mustangs will square off against the Aspire Langston Hughes Academy Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Venture Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past River Islands 21-4. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Savanah Espinoza was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most triples she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Venture Academy got a massive performance out of Amiyah Pizano, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Gracelynn Silva was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Venture Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .655. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Aspire Langston Hughes Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against River Islands, falling 25-11. On the bright side, the 11- run performance marked the Titans' highest-scoring game to date.
Venture Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Aspire Langston Hughes Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
Venture Academy took their victory against Aspire Langston Hughes Academy in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 16-4 score. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
