Basketball Recap: Brady Elias' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lanesville over Christian Academy

Lanesville lost against Christian Academy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lanesville Eagles took a 69-52 bruising from the Christian Academy Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 345th, while the Warriors are ranked 128th).

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brady Elias, who posted 11 points. Eli Newdigate also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first rebound of the season.

Even though they lost, Lanesville was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Joshua Renfro continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Christian Academy, going 9 of 14 on his way to 31 points and three steals. That's the most steals Renfro has posted since back in February of 2024. David Cook was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Lanesville and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Christian Academy, their record now sits at 9-4.

Lanesville has already played their next game, a 67-35 loss against Orleans on the 18th. Christian Academy has also already played their next contest (against Jeffersontown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
