Baseball Game Preview: Western Hills Cougars vs. Dunbar Wildcats

For the second straight game, Western Hills will face off against Dunbar. The Cougars will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m.

Western Hills not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 26, 2024. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over Dunbar. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Trey Martinez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Giovanni Ramirez, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Axel Sanchez, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Dunbar is on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-10-1. As for Western Hills, their win bumped their record up to 2-14-1.
