Flag Football Recap: Leading Edge Academy - GEC Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Shareen Liszak and Corynn Foster

Leading Edge Academy - GEC was the 26-7 winner over Seton Catholic when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans fell 20-12 to the Sentinels on Tuesday. The Spartans were down 20-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Leading Edge Academy - GEC's loss came despite strong showings from Corynn Foster and Shareen Liszak. Foster picked up 138 receiving yards, while Liszak threw for 169 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Foster was even better on defense, picking up a sack, making ten total tackles (5.0 for loss), and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

While Leading Edge Academy - GEC came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Seton Catholic: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 44.4%. A big part of Seton Catholic's victory came down to the chemistry between Ava Pongratz and her top target Giovanna Di Scala. Pongratz rushed for 60 yards and one score while Di Scala gained 176 total yards and two touchdowns. What's more, Di Scala posted two receiving touchdowns, the most she's had since back in October of 2024.

Leading Edge Academy - GEC's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Seton Catholic, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1.
