Volleyball Recap: Westosha Central Takes a Loss

Westosha Central saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves by a score of 2-1. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Timberwolves 25-16 in the first set.

Westosha Central actually scored more points across those three sets (62-59), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-21, 18-16.

Kahlen Willis paced Westosha Central's offense, picking up 11 kills. Willis got some help from Payton Scifres and her 24 assists. Scifres was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Westosha Central's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Living Word Lutheran, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-4.

Westosha Central has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Grayslake Central on the 27th. As for Living Word Lutheran, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Heritage Christian on the 30th.
