Basketball Recap: Carlisle County Starts Season with Victory Against St. Mary

Carlisle County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They took down the St. Mary Vikings 68-53. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Comets also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2024.

Macee Hogancamp was a one-woman wrecking crew as she dropped a double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last three times she's played. Gracyn Edging was another key player, shooting 64% from the field to rack up 16 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Carlisle County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Carlisle County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 78-36 win against Paducah Tilghman on the 5th. As for St. Mary, they will take on Ballard Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
