Volleyball Recap: Cranston West Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Coventry

Cranston West faced Coventry in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Falcons came up short against the Oakers, falling 3-0. The Falcons' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-8, 25-13.

Dominic Correia paced Cranston West's offense, picking up five kills. Correia got some help from Ashton Mak and his 11 assists. Finally, Mak was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Cranston West's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Coventry, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cranston West will take on rival Classical at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Coventry is set to face off against their familiar foe Chariho at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
