Basketball Recap: Kanab Extends Winning Streak to Five

Kanab had won four straight games and Kyle Brown did his part to make it five on Friday. The Kanab Cowboys strolled past the Millard Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 82-63 thanks in part to Brown, who went 13-for-15 on his way to 29 points. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points.

Cash Mortensen was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game.

Kanab pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points over those games. As for Millard, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.

Looking ahead, Kanab will take on Grand County at 1:00 p.m. on February 15th. Grand County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Kanab likes a good challenge. As for Millard, they have already played their next game, a 74-57 loss against North Sevier on the 12th.
