Baseball Recap: Irvine Takes a Loss

Irvine suffered their closest loss since April 2, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the San Juan Hills Stallions by a score of 5-3. The Vaqueros have struggled against the Stallions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Irvine saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drake Brito, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Irvine's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for San Juan Hills, they moved to 3-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Irvine is taking a road trip to square off against Costa Mesa at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Irvine is facing Costa Mesa at the right time seeing as Costa Mesa is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for San Juan Hills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ocean View at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Ocean View's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so San Juan Hills' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
