Basketball Game Preview: Whitney Young Dolphins vs. Lyons Lions

The Whitney Young Dolphins will venture away from home to face off against the Lyons Lions at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Whitney Young's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games.

Whitney Young is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 59-49 win over Mother McAuley. The Dolphins haven't had any issues with the Mighty Macs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Lyons entered their tilt with Fenwick on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Friars with a sharp 66-44 win. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Whitney Young's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points over those games. As for Lyons, their win bumped their record up to 31-2.

Whitney Young won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, slipping by Lyons 46-45. Will Whitney Young repeat their success, or does Lyons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
