Baseball Recap: Fort Knox Comes Up Short

Fort Knox lost against Hart County back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Eagles came up short against the Raiders, falling 19-4.

Fort Knox saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Ortega, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Ortega is becoming a predictor of the Eagles' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 1-6 when he doesn't). Adrial Vieux also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Fort Knox's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Hart County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-8-1.

Coming up, Fort Knox will head out on the road to take on North Hardin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hart County, they will welcome Larue County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
