Baseball Recap: Valley Head Tigers vs. Ider Hornets
The home team had come away the winner the last seven times Valley Head and Ider had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Tigers fell 8-4 to the Hornets on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 6-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.
Valley Head saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Baty, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one RBI. That hit was Baty's first of the season.
Valley Head dropped their record down to 5-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Ider, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season.
While Valley Head had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
