Riverview hasn't had much luck against Serra Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Raiders will take on the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Serra Catholic's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Riverview hadn't allowed a single run the last five times they've hit the field. The Raiders' pitchers stepped up to hand Springdale an 18-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Dynamos recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Johnny Bertucci made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bertucci was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Lukas Duncan and Eli DeVita did most of the damage at the plate: Duncan went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while DeVita went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That triple marked the first that Duncan has hit this season. Rece Stempfer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Riverview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Serra Catholic came out on top against Brentwood on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Eagles put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 10-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Max Black was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Dumbroski, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base.
Serra Catholic pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Riverview, their record is now 14-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Riverview has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Serra Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Riverview suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Serra Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
