Football Recap: Memorial Piles Up the Points Against Andrews

Memorial won the last time they faced Andrews and things went their way on Friday too. The Mavericks blew past the Mustangs 70-20. That looming 70-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mavericks yet this season.

Memorial's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joe Castles, who threw for 218 yards and four TDs while completing 84.2% of his passes. Eric Powell was another key rusher, gaining 146 total yards and two touchdowns.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blas Hernandez, who rushed for 73 yards and one score. Hernandez's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Andrews also got a significant boost from Jase VanZandt, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.
