Football Recap: North Buncombe Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Ryan Moffatt and Kyngston Denson

North Buncombe lost against McDowell back in September of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Black Hawks took a 35-19 bruising from the Titans. The Black Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

North Buncombe's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kyngston Denson, who rushed for 151 yards and one touchdown, and Ryan Moffatt, who rushed for 34 yards and a pair of TDs.

McDowell's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Danny Charles Brown, who threw for 369 yards and one TD while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 32 yards and one score. Those 369 passing yards gave Charles Brown a new career-high. Hunter Pittman was another key player, rushing for 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

North Buncombe now has a losing record of 2-3. As for McDowell, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

North Buncombe wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 21-3 defeat against Enka on the 3rd. As for McDowell, they have also already played their next game, a 60-42 win against South Caldwell on the 3rd.
