The Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets will take on the Olentangy Berlin Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mt. Vernon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Mt. Vernon is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bloom-Carroll.

Mt. Vernon got a good showing from Jagger Dohn, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Dohn has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Carter Castlemen and Ezra Kurek did some serious damage despite the final result: Castlemen got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, while Kurek went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Dammon Wolfe was another key player, earning two runs and three stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Olentangy Berlin sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Dublin Coffman on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Olentangy Berlin's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Mt. Vernon, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9.

Mt. Vernon took their victory against Olentangy Berlin in their previous matchup back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Do the Yellowjackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
