El Paso-Gridley is a perfect 8-0 against Fisher since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Titans are taking a road trip to face off against the Bunnies at 4:30 p.m.
On Monday, El Paso-Gridley came up short against Heyworth and fell 10-6.
El Paso-Gridley got a good showing from Landon Raymer, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Raymer hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March.
At the plate, El Paso-Gridley saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Vandegraft, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Fisher came into Tuesday's game having lost 14 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against Cerro Gordo/Bement on Tuesday as they made off with an 8-1 victory. The Bunnies not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 24th (when they won 15-5).
Weston Ensign was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jeremiah Todd, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Brayden Mowry also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Fisher's record now sits at 2-15. As for El Paso-Gridley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.
El Paso-Gridley was able to grind out a solid win over Fisher in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 8-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
