Softball Recap: Hueytown Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After flying high against Bibb County on Friday, Hueytown came back down to earth. The Hueytown Golden Gophers fell just short of the McAdory Yellowjackets by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Gophers of the 5-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Hueytown's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for McAdory, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Hueytown didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-2 victory against West Blocton on the 8th. As for McAdory, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-1 win against Sumiton Christian on the 8th.
