Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask York). They blew past the Proviso West Panthers 17-1 on Thursday. Considering the Dukes have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Jack Lonergan looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Jack Kamienski was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Grzywa, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
