Preview: Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders vs. Colome Cowboys
The Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders will head out on the road to square off against the Colome Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Sunshine Bible Academy and 17 for Colome dating back to last season.
Last Monday, Sunshine Bible Academy was beaten by Mitchell Christian 82-54. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sunshine Bible Academy in their matchups with Mitchell Christian: they've now lost three in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Trey Thieman, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerome Big Eagle, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Sunshine Bible Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mitchell Christian only posted seven assists.
Meanwhile, Colome pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 80-61 bruising from North Central.
Sunshine Bible Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Colome, they dropped their record down to 0-13 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
