Basketball Recap: Columbia Academy Comes Up Short

Columbia Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell to the Harding Academy Lions 42-37. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in December of 2019.

Harding Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Erica McGary led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Niya Evans, who posted 13 points.

Columbia Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Harding Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Columbia Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 39-29 win against Marshall County on the 3rd. As for Harding Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 29-24 victory against Whites Creek on the 30th.
