Northview's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Lithonia with a sharp 18-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won nine in a row.
Jordyn Burdick made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Burdick was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August.
In other batting news, Jinghan (Hannah) Xu and Anokhi Patel did most of the damage at the plate: Xu went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Patel went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Xu has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Niki Karimifard, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Northview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .852. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Johns Creek came up short against Milton on Thursday and fell 6-2. The Gladiators have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Johns Creek saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Uma Pittman, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Johns Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Northview, their record now sits at 8-16.
Northview suffered a grim 15-2 defeat to Johns Creek in their previous meeting back in August. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
