Softball Recap: Nolan Catholic Takes a Loss

Nolan Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Trinity Christian Trojans. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Maddie Kapavik and Mallory Laux stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kapavik went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Laux went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Padilla, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Nolan Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 4-13-1. As for Trinity Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

While Nolan Catholic had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
