Softball Recap: Oregon-Davis Comes Up Short

Oregon-Davis extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-15-1. They came up short against the Calumet Christian Patriots, falling 14-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Bobcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Calumet Christian, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1. Give their pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

For Calumet Christian's part, Allison Meseberg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meseberg has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Tessa Prim was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Diedra Keelan was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Oregon-Davis will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against LaVille at 4:30 p.m. As for Calumet Christian, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Hammond Bishop Noll at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
