Basketball Recap: Harrison Gets the Win

Sand Creek came into Saturday's matchup looking for another win against Harrison, but Dylan Arocho wouldn't allow it. The stars were shining brightly for the Panthers in a 56-41 win over the Scorpions on Saturday for which the team can thank Arocho, who shot 71% from the field en route to 23 points and eight boards. He is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played.

Several Scorpions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Weston Van Slyke, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Izah Yates also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Harrison now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Sand Creek, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Harrison and Sand Creek will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Panthers see the court they'll take on Vista Ridge at 1:00 p.m. on January 3rd. As for Sand Creek, their break will end when they face Coronado at 1:00 p.m. on January 3rd.
