Volleyball Recap: Madie Robinette Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Bishop Walsh

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Heritage Academy, Calvary Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bishop Walsh Spartans. This was a revenge game for Calvary Christian Academy: when they faced off against Bishop Walsh back in August, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Calvary Christian Academy walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-21, 15-25, 25-15, 25-18.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Calvary Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madie Robinette, who had 20 digs, 18 kills, and five aces. Those five aces gave Robinette a new career-high. Olivia McCumber was another key player, getting 20 digs, six kills, and five aces.

Calvary Christian Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7-1. As for Bishop Walsh, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Coincidentally, Calvary Christian Academy and Bishop Walsh will both be playing Grace Academy the next time they take the court. Calvary Christian Academy will host Grace Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while Bishop Walsh will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on the 23rd.
