Volleyball Game Preview: American Fork Cavemen vs. Lehi Pioneers

After both having extra time off, the American Fork Cavemen and the Lehi Pioneers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

American Fork is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Lone Peak, who was ranked fourth at the time (American Fork was ranked 19th). The Cavemen fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2 last Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Cavemen in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

American Fork couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Lone Peak a tough time in the first set. The final score came out to 30-32, 25-17, 25-21, 22-25, 19-17.

Meanwhile, Lehi waltzed into their game last Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 3-1.

Lehi had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-20.

Lehi's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. As for American Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
