Softball Recap: Manteca Beats Ben Holt College Prep Academy for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Manteca had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Ben Holt College Prep Academy Bobcats a 6-0 shutout. The Buffaloes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Riley Ward's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sienna Owen, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those stolen bases were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bella Cooper, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Manteca's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Looking ahead, Manteca will head out on the road to face off against Patterson at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, they will face off against Sonora at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
