Colony is a perfect 10-0 against Palmer since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Moose at 1:30 p.m. Colony is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
Soldotna hit Colony with a five-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stars.
Colony saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Carlson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that Carlson has hit this season. Another was Boman Marks, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Palmer made sure to put some runs up on the board against West Anchorage on Friday. The Moose came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 10-5. The Moose haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Palmer let Reed Craner and Jacob Rockey run wild. Craner went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Rockey went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBI. Craner is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Landon, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Palmer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Anchorage only posted an OBP of .367.
The victory got Palmer back to even at 2-2. As for Colony, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Everything went Colony's way against Palmer in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Colony made off with a 19-0 win. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Moose have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
