Football Recap: North Lenoir Hawks vs. East Duplin Panthers

North Lenoir won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They had to suffer through a 54-0 loss at the hands of the East Duplin Panthers. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Hawks haven't been shut out since back in August.

It was another big night for Shawn Davis, who rushed for 86 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries for East Duplin. Davis also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making three total tackles. Another player making a difference was Branson Norris, who rushed for 12 yards and two touchdowns.

With the loss, North Lenoir broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-4. As for East Duplin, their record now sits at an identical 3-4.

North Lenoir will face off against James Kenan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. James Kenan is coming into the match with three straight victories on the road, so North Lenoir will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for East Duplin, they will head out to take on South Lenoir at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Duplin is facing South Lenoir at the right time seeing as South Lenoir is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
