Baseball Game Preview: River Valley Dust Devils vs. Highland Prep Honey Badgers

The River Valley Dust Devils will challenge the Highland Prep Honey Badgers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in River Valley's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Highland Prep has been banged up by 12 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

River Valley is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Odyssey Institute on Monday. They fell just short of the Minotaur by a score of 3-2.

River Valley got a good showing from Thomas Ramby, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Ramby has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jeremiah Putt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Meanwhile, Highland Prep fell victim to Kingman and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 28-0 to the Bulldogs.

River Valley's loss dropped their record down to 9-4-2. As for Highland Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
