Basketball Recap: Loogootee Comes Up Short

Loogootee lost against South Knox back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Loogootee Lions had to suffer through a 86-22 loss at the hands of the South Knox Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Spartans are ranked 16th).

Madison Waggner was Loogootee's leading scorer, having posted 13 points. Waggner also led the team in rebounds with three. Brianna Eckerle took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Loogootee's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-12. As for South Knox, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-2.

Loogootee will take on Barr-Reeve at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South Knox does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
