Softball Recap: Upper St. Clair Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Upper St. Clair's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils. That six run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Brooklyn Kemp made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Kemp was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sydney Fisher, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Caroline Barnard was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Upper St. Clair was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Upper St. Clair's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8. As for Mt. Lebanon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Coming up, Upper St. Clair will be playing in front of their home fans against Peters Township at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a five-game losing streak. Mt. Lebanon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
