Baseball Game Preview: St. Stephens Indians vs. East Lincoln Mustangs

The St. Stephens Indians will head out on the road to square off against the East Lincoln Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

St. Stephens is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against West Iredell on Monday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, East Lincoln got the win against Statesville on Monday by a conclusive 9-1. Considering the Mustangs have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Aden Tompkins was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Ethan Arledge-Martin was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

East Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for St. Stephens, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

St. Stephens came up short against East Lincoln when the teams last played on April 8th, falling 15-11. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
