Volleyball Game Preview: Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers vs. Triopia/Virginia Trojans

The Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers will head out to challenge the Triopia/Virginia Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Greenfield/Northwestern will be strutting in after a win while Triopia/Virginia will be coming in after a defeat.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Greenfield/Northwestern and Brown County, and Greenfield/Northwestern kept the tradition alive. The Tigers walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Hornets on Tuesday.

While Greenfield/Northwestern won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Triopia/Virginia unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carrollton.

While Triopia/Virginia ultimately came up short, they really made Carrollton work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-19.

Triopia/Virginia's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 17-7. As for Greenfield/Northwestern, they pushed their record up to 17-11-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Greenfield/Northwestern couldn't quite get it done against Triopia/Virginia in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
